Oasis
September 12, 2005 – The Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles, CA

On September 12th, I had the unique pleasure of seeing Oasis at the Hollywood Bowl and this is what I have this to say: Oasis can rock. For far too long, American audiences have essentially ignored this great
rock and roll band. However, on this brisk night in September, the fighting, the drugs, and the decadent public persona of the Gallagher brothers took back stage to the music. Though I didn’t know what the fuck Liam was saying half the time, it didn’t matter. It is obvious that the swagger of Oasis has not resided from the times of “Definitely Maybe” and “(Whats the Story) Morning Glory”. From the opening hooks of “Fucking in the Bushes?” to the communal rendition of “Don’t Look Back in Anger”, Oasis displayed the cocksure arrogance, talent and rock sensibility that first drew American audiences to the Manchester band.
