Elliott... and a leg.In the wake of Elliott Smith's death on October 21 2003 (see Christina's post, below), a hastily thrown-together tribute show happened at the Henry Fonda Theater featuring a few big names from LA. As it's been three years now since I got the crushing instant messages with news of his suicide, I figure: What better time than now to post a few bootlegs of that show. Neither Rilo Kiley nor Beck turn in their finest performances here; they are clearly staggering under the weight of grief. But these short sets show what a tremendous impact Smith had on his friends and fans in the Los Angeles music community. Enjoy.
