The Virginia Tech Shooting is being called “the worst shooting rampage in American history,” and “the deadlist mass shooting by a single person in the history of the United States,” with 33 students and faculty killed, including the shooter, Cho Seung-Hui. While the news media probes psychologists, asking “what makes a killer?” the most troubling part of the afermath is that so very few are asking the most obvious question: how is it possible for anyone to carry handguns into dorms or classrooms or anywhere in public?
Doesn’t anyone remember Columbine, almost seven years ago to this day? The kids screaming, the parents getting calls that their children are being shot in school.
Shot in school.
So what can we do? Click Here for a hella easy pre-done e-mail that took me literally 10 seconds and was sent to:
* Senator Harry M. Reid
* Representative Nancy Pelosi
* Representative Jane Harman
* President George W. Bush
* Senator Dianne Feinstein
That’s courtesy of the Brady Campaign, and right now, it’s better than nothing. It’s better than wondering if Cho was upset at his parents, or schoolmates, or just one fucked up kid.
Keep talking about this. Never forget Virginia Tech.
