The story centers on Millie Dillmount. She is a Kansas-born girl modernizing her life in New York. She aspires to marry her affluent boss named Trevor Graydon. However, she ends up falling for a poor man named Jimmy Smith. Her paramount realization is that love has everything to do with marriage. In addition, Millie meets an aspiring actress named Miss Dorothy Brown and a Manhattan heiress named Muzzy von Hossmere. Together, Millie and her new acquaintances expose the scandalous secret of Mrs. Meed, who is a wanted criminal that sells the orphans who occupy her hotel. Overall, the musical was a grand success! Tickets were sold out. The audience responded positively. Audience members felt the show was surprisingly professional for a student group production.  HOOLIGAN was devoted to the quality of the performance and invested considerable time and money into the production. Casting took 2 weeks. Preparation took 7 months. Funds totaled to $30,000. Despite the long months of preparation and hard work, the cast members expressed that they greatly enjoyed rehearsals. The long hours spent together brought them extremely close.  Leading actress Joanna Syiek described the cast as a family. HOOLIGAN is indeed a diversified family. That is because they open membership to anyone of any major.
