Tuesday night at the Armand Hammer Museum, filmmaker, performer and writer, Miranda July, read from her newest book, "No One Belongs Here More Than You." The artist was enthusiastically supported by an overcrowded auditorium of fans and admirers. July is especially well known for writing, directing and starring in the feature film, "Me, You and Everyone We Know" (2005). She has been recognized for her work with awards at the Sundance Film Festival and the Camera d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. July began her career writing and staging plays at local punk clubs in Berkeley, California. She is currently writing an original screenplay. With a standing room crowd, it is no surprise that her book immediately sold out Tuesday. She signed those of lucky fans who bought them. July will continue to tour the world with her book and publically read from her short stories through July, when she will make her last stop in Milan, Italy.
