The AZN Excellence Awards was a red carpet, history-making event at Royce Hall Wednesday night (May 16). Asian Culture was embraced more enthusiastically than ever before.  Asian culture was cool or, as the honorees put it, “HOT”. With commitments to the likes of E! Entertainment, AZN TV and JC Penny, today’s Asian American celebrities have opportunities to be beamed across the major networks. All night celebrities were recognized for their pioneering efforts in diverse fields such as television, film, comedy, fashion and even cuisine. As the popular Asian comedian Margaret Cho, put it, “Its often just one Asian in a show on television. Tonight we come together for this beautiful culture all together”
