As finals draw near, what is it that stress ridden college students normally do? Confront their stress by doing their work and getting it done in the shortest most efficient way possible? No, of course not! The majority of us will be whittling our time away on facebook, cleaning out that obscure area under our desk, or re-organizing our sock drawer in an effort to procrastinate on writing our final papers.
But now I introduce to you to another fabulous way to procrastinate – Robot Unicorn Attack! The goal of this side scrolling game is to collect as many faeries as possibly, in order to get your “wishes” granted (like getting your paper done without having to do anything work). Not only can you avoid your work by galloping across a purple landscape filled with fairies and giant metal stars, you can listen to Erasure’s “Always,” the one and only song in the game’s soundtrack. By the time you realize you need to stop playing this surprisingly addictive game and get back to the inevitable, Erasure’s ridiculously cheesy synthpop ballad will be firmly ingrained in your mind. Not that it’s a bad thing. Whenever I’m down, I just think of this song, and images of leaping through rainbow littered clouds in an effort to get my wishes granted always makes me smile.
