How to listen live

April 9th, 2006

You can listen to UCLAradio.com online from anywhere in the universe (if you have, you know, an Internet connection).  In order to listen you must have Windows Media Player or Quicktime installed.

*To listen live, click on the big black pair of headphones above.*

You can also listen to us in iTunes or any mp3 player that can handle streaming.  Downloading this file will open our QuickTime stream in your player.

If your browser says you are missing a plug-in, download one of the following:

Windows Media Player (available for Windows and Mac)
QuickTime (available for Windows and Mac)

When I try to open the mp3 stream in winamp, i get an error saying “error syncing to mpeg” anyone know how to solve this?

  2. Greg Says:

It’s not an mp3 stream, actually, so don’t try to open it as one. It’s a QuickTime MOV stream. If you can’t get it in WinAmp at all, try it in QuickTime or iTunes, which should get it easy. :)

  4. john Says:

why aren’t you on one of the itunes radio stations? loyola is. UCI is. where u @?

  5. Greg Says:

john- iTunes has a really unusual “back end” that only accepts mp3 streams. since our streams are windows media and quicktime streams, we cannot get listed yet. we are working on creating an mp3 stream that will eventually be listed on iTunes.

Unable to listen to live stream 3/2/08 at 8:41 pm PT. If I click on the black headsets, I get a question, partially cut off, asking whether my bitstream rate is 128. If I click either answer I get a window asking “Find, Save, Cancel,” none of which allows me to listen. That file is called UCLAradio.pls

If I go to “how to listen” and click on
“Downloading this file will open our QuickTime stream in your player”
Windows Media Player opens and says my PC is low on memory, which it is not. So… nothing seems to work!
