Delilah: Today we are here with UCLA Radio, I am Delilah Mendoza and next to me is Ramón Vega. Today we are going to be talking
about his new song, ”Algo Bien.” Well, thank you very much for being here today. We are going to be talking a little about your new song. “Algo Bien.” I want to know a little about the process and what was the inspiration behind the song.
Ramon: Thank you for the space and for the time. Behind this song, the inspiration is on the beach, it’s in San Carlos, Sonora, in a place where I like to disconnect, go have a good time with my buddies, with my friends, and with my girl friends. And really the inspiration comes from there, from those days where we have a good time. That’s why I wanted to go there for the video as well on the beach. That is the inspiration.
Delilah: Thank you for that, I also wanted to ask what is the difference between this song, “Algo Bien” and your other songs you’ve released?
Ramon: Well this is the first song that is more regional Mexican and I don’t know if it’s a corrido tumbado or more Belico. People give it different names, but I see it as more of a Corrido that talks about when you are hanging out , you know something good, when you’re with your buddies hanging out. And honestly, I’m very excited about the project behind this song, because this song is part of an album that I’ve been making for ten months, which is very special for me because I’m here I’m also returning to my roots, right? On my family’s side it is known that the whole Vega dynasty, always hand in hand with regional Mexican. When I started I began to do something completely different and what comes behind the song is something very special for me, because I return to that root, right?
Delilah: I was also going to comment on your producer David Moreno, how has he helped you in releasing this song or in previous projects you’ve released?
Ramon: Greetings Paul David, how cool that you mentioned him, also the skinny guy, the skinny guy is a, is a beastie, is a one. Honestly, I admire him a lot, he is a person who really when he came into my life also had a big change, a big impact. He is the composer of many, of many songs that became hits after we met, songs of his authorship of his composition, like Tirar un reloj, which is a song that had a big impact also on my career and. And well the skinny guy is ver talented and really he is the one behind all these productions of the upcoming album. Also my brother César, who is also there in Obregón, in the neighborhood. And well they are really the two minds there that are behind all these works. Greetings to those guys!
Delilah: Talking about collaborations I know you’ve collaborated with artists like Christian Nodal.in the future with whom or which artists do you plan to collaborate?
Ramon: Yes, with Carin I have a song with Carin that will be out soon. Greetings to my buddy Carin there with the guys from Frontera too we are looking to do something
Soon. We are also finding, we are looking and trying to find the song and many more surprises are coming. A song with Jessie Núñez is also coming, also a corrido and many surprises are coming.
Delilah: I can see today we are here with Sony. How have they supported you in your career so far?
Ramon: Sony has been, well, the foundation. Honestly, since I’ve been with them my dream started. Honestly, since I signed my contract they have always been, always been there, attentive to my project, to my music, to my dreams, eh? And really the relationship between the people who are in this company in this professional family, because I consider it that way, a family, apart from all the infrastructure they have, they have something very important and special which is the human one. And that is, that is something big. For me no, the people who are here also go and leave here in the office and we go get a tac and we talk about what is coming in my dream, about music, about what I want to do and that is something big, right, to have that support. So really they are the foundation of this dream.
Delilah: with the release of your new song eh? What are your goals or aspirations for your career in the future?
Ramon: To keep living from what I love
and what makes me happy. Honestly, that is my goal. In the short and long term. And today in the present, the most, the most important and what I have to thank all
my fans is that, right that I can live a life that I dreamed of living, the life I dreamed of and and so many blessings jus doing what, what, what I love, doing what I like and also giving that message to the people who are watching me. That they always do what reall passions them and that they distinguish that passion and where they know that’s it, there it will be, right?
Delilah: I think that’s it. Thank you very much for being here with us today. I hope everyone listens to the song for something good. And is there something you want to say to the audience who are watching?
Ramon: First, thank you very much for the time also and for coming, for the opportunity here to be able to tell you everything I bring. Here, right? And and well, nothing, to all the people who
are watching us there, to all the kids who are watching, to follow their dreams, to follow that passion, to distinguish that. I am a witness to that faith and that passion and that love for what you put and that passion you have, moves mountains and incredible things happen. After doing it, you can follow that dream, that passion and that they always do things from the heart and don’t let go of God’s hand. Nothing more I can tell you than to be listening to my music, to stay tuned for everything that is coming because only good things are coming. Thank you very much to you.
