The day everyone did not want to come had finally arrived and although it was a bittersweet ending to meet, it only meant more performances from the biggest latin artists in the world. Day 3’s lineup of artists was something out of a dream for all latin music listeners. It was so diverse and had so much talent from all Latin countries around the world. And of course the headliner was perhaps the most current trending groupo in the world at the moment, Fuerza Regida. But apart from Fuerza Regida, we also had Kali Uchis, Mora, Jowell y Randy, Piso 212, Dei V, Tiago PZK and Snow Tha Product. Although these artists are all latin, their music is so different from one another which is what made the final day of Baja Beach Fest feel so special.
Starting off day 3 of Baja Beach Fest were up and coming stars such as Delilah and Fredy Fresco who put on amazing performances and really showed that they are here to stay in this industry for a long time. After them we had Snow Tha Product, a really talented latina rapper who went trending for her collaboration with Argentinian DJ Bizzarap. After Snow Tha Product’s performance we really were lucky to witness Tiago PZK, an Argentiain rapper who almost never performs in North America. Tiago PZK is a huge artist in the latin industry and even bigger in his home country of Argentina in which he not only hangs with Leo Messi and his Argentinain teammates but also even made a viral song for his country’s world cup victory. Tiago played some of his biggest hits including “Piel” and “Una Foto Remix” which had fans singing along on the top of their lungs. So many fans had showed up so early for Tiago’s live performance with their Argentina flags to show their support but a memorable part from Tiago’s performance was when he grabbed a fan’s Mexican flag and wrapped it around him. He then told us about a sentimental moment in his career and that one of his first shows ever was right there in Mexico. Tiago PZK expressed his love and appreciation for not only his fans in Mexico but the country itself.
After Tiago PZK, we got to witness the biggest up and coming Puerto Rican artists Dei V. Dei V is an artist who came to the spotlight fast and sort of out of nowhere. I say out of nowhere because he is so early in his career yet, he’s reached heights that take some artists far more time. Dei V is a prodigy of the new generation of Puerto Rican reggaeton artists having collaborations with artists such J Balvin, Cris Mj, Saiko, Karol G, YOVNGCHIMI, Myke Towers, Eladio Carrion, Mora, Young Miko and even more. To be able to see him perform his own performance and not as a special guest was something that a lot of people cannot say they experienced. Dei V received so much love and attention for this performance that even Bad Bunny had posted a photo of Dei V on his Instagram expressing his love for him. Dei V is a star in the making and only getting bigger and the fact that Baja Beach Fest invited him out was something that will go down in history.
Piso 21 is a Colombian group of singer, songwriters and producers who are known for their hit love songs and this was my first time ever seeing them perform live. They put on such a great show in which had fans from all over the festival come together to enjoy the amazing vibes of their hit songs. And even though they have a lot of love songs and not everyone in the crowd was perhaps in a relationship they grabbed the microphone during their song and started pointing at all their single fans. Psio 21 live performance was fun and pure vibes for all the Baja Beach Fest fans. At sun down we had the legendary duo Jowell y Randy who literally turned the entire festival into a nightclub. You had fans in GA already packing it out because of how iconic they knew the Jowell y Randy set was about to be. Their performance had people going crazy and had fans getting on each other’s shoulder so they could get seen on the jumbotron screens. Jowell y Randy are true pioneers in the reggaeton industry and everyone knew this was something they could not miss.
After Jowell y Randy we were able to witness Reggatonlandia on the tower stage for their DJ mix there. Reggatonlandia is a very well known traveling party crew of DJ’s and production people who host reggaeton parties all over the U.S. especially in LA. and the fact that this was their first time being invited was a very great thing to see Baja Beach Fest do. But after Reggatonlandia I believe it was the most cenemantic performance yet. Mora, a Puerto Rican singer who has been on hiatus for some time, decided to join Baja Beach Fest this year. As the lights all went off you heard the intro of the song, “MEDIA LUNDA” which is a guitar riff intro. From that intro you see 6 dancers make their way to the stage with ski masks covering their head and each one of them had mics. As the chorus began they all started to sing and fans began to wonder, which one of these people is Mora? Then finally, all but 1 dancer had left the stage and continued to sing in front of everyone. But finally the song’s beat had dropped and you see the pyrotechnic fire go off and there he was running from the right side of the stage where no one expected him to. Mora’s music is known for heartbreak and sorrow but that didn’t mean fans weren’t going to scream their lungs out to help sing along. Mora’s hiatus from music had only made this performance more special for all his fans and I was in awe to finally be able to witness him live.
After Mora, we were able to see the Majestic Kali Uchis take the stage. Personally, I have been a fan of Kali Uchis career from a very early time. When she would have a lot of collaborations with English indie artists, but since she’s evolved to so much more than only that. Being from Colombia she embraced her roots and began to make tons of latin songs with some of the biggest artists such as Karol G and Peso Pluma. Kali’s performance was really majestic with all the purple and pink haze and all the diamonds on her boots and outfits.
Finally we had arrived at the bitter sweet part of the music festival. We knew it was coming to an end but they had to save the best for last. Similar to Peso Pluma’s situation, due to security reasons, earlier in the year Fuerza Regida had also announced they would no longer be doing shows in Mexico. Just like Peso Pluma, fans were always a bit worried about what would happen if the day of the festival came and for some reason they did not show up. But that wasn’t the case here. Because they were coming and if there’s anything Fuerza Regida knows how to do, it’s to make a grand entry. Don’t get me wrong, being somewhere on time is always polite but personally, knowing the large amount of fame and obstacles Fuerza Regida have I knew they would show up late and this only made their performance more epic. And there they were, Jumping across the stage, running to their instruments and their lead singer JOP hyping up the crowd ready to put on a show. Fuerza Regida played for 2 hours straight and did not end until 4 in the morning. They put on a legendy show for all of Baja Beach Fest to enjoy and cherish. They brought out special guests such as Clave Especial, Kevin AMF, and Tiagz to all perform their hit collaborations.
Baja Beach Fest 2024 was a huge success and was something I never have experienced in my entire life. There is truly no other latin music festival that can compare to the amount of star power and good energy that Baja Beach Fest brings. From the amount of talent, the diversity of talent, being right by the beach in Mexico and of course all the fans across the world who come together to enjoy reggaeton. Latino or not, Baja Beach Fest was for the people and they truly surpassed every expectation they had.
