Come one, come all to the Greek Theatre on August 20th and 21st for a bit (and by a bit I mean a lot) of joy. It’s the Celebrating 10 Years Of Mt. Joy Tour, and the indie rock band is setting foot once more in the Greek, having sold out the iconic venue during their 2024 world tour.
Comprised of Matt Quinn (vocals, guitar), Sam Cooper (guitar), Sotiris Eliopoulos (drums), Jackie Miclau (keyboards) and Michael Byrnes (bass), the Philadelphia band has released four studio albums in their ten years comprising of their self-titled debut, Rearrange Us, Orange Blood, and Hope We Have Fun. The band is fresh off of their 2025 tour named after their fourth studio album, which sold 200,000 and visited venues across the country, including Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and the Greek Theatre in Berkley, the latter of which I had the pleasure of attending. That same album debuted on Spotify’s U.S. Album Chart Top 10 with hits like “Highway Queen” and “She Wants To Go Dancing.”

With over 1 billion streams, Mt. Joy’s music is deservingly appreciated, including features on Rolling Stone and The New York Times. Their 2026 tour is poised to be their biggest one yet, and they have partnered with PLUS1, guaranteeing that $1 from every ticket sale supports local charities. The show at the Greek will be a retrospective one, featuring hits from across their 10 year history together. Their Hope We Have Fun tour last year notably included fan favorites like “Silver Lining,” which went #2 on the Billboard Triple A charts on its release, as well as my personal favorite, “Bathroom Light,” which I regard to be one of the most soothing and soulful songs of its genre.

Mt. Joy’s two-day residency at the Greek will be on Thursday, August 20th, and Friday, August 21st. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show itself beginning at 8 p.m. You can find tickets on Mt. Joy’s tour website: https://www.mtjoyband.com/tour.
On their 2025 tour, Quinn said, “we think we’ve got a ‘can’t miss’ show this year. If we’re in your town, come see this show.” This promise rings true once again this year, so make sure to come see their performance.
