Photos by Ava London & Dylan Simmons Peachy San Diego is a love letter to all of SoCal and its unique, flourishing alternative music scene that sometimes takes a backseat to the dominant, mainstream music industry of Los Angeles. The annual, one-day mini-festival highlights San Diegoan artists and local alternative bands, hosted by the iconic…
Best known as the frontman of the eclectic, classic rock influenced, alt-country band Geese, his voice is immediately recognizable as transcendent and virtuosic. His vocal depth is unheralded, and he can hit unexpected notes preternaturally, at the drop of a hat.
Photos by Dylan Simmons & Ava London Singer-songwriter, orchestra kid, Trump impersonator… in the span of a Friday evening, the mononymous Jordana proved herself a jack of all trades. The bands were perfect, the crowd was a picture of total engagement, leaving absolutely nothing to be desired. I can always identify a great show by the artist’s level of disruption into my listening habits in the subsequent days after the show; safe to say Joyce Manor left their mark.
Photos by Chloe Gonzales ————– From mosh pits to slow ballads, Current Joys knows how to get a crowd going. Indie artist Nick Rattigan filled the seats of the Bellwether for a night of nostalgia. The band’s inception being a mysterious solo project, Rattigan remains an enigma on how he got his story. There’s no…
As I walked down LA Live, the streets were flooded with lines, merchandise vendors, food vendors and a lot of security. Initially I had thought to myself, “Perhaps there’s a concert at the crypto arena tonight.” But in reality the line, filled with fans and latino news channels, was for the Novo theater. As you…
